Hard Bardics archiveKen Campbell's acclaimed School of Night company returns with a new show. In the 16th century, the School of Night - a title derived from a passage in Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost - was arcane, underground sect of artits, thinkers, writers, scientists and spies, who some scholars believe wrote Shakespeare's plays. It has been suggested that this original group was led by Sir Walter Raleigh and was attended by other infamous individuals such as Christopher Marlowe. Now, in the 21st century revived by Campbell, the company exists as a troupe of actors who improvise lost Shakespearean masterpieces inspired by audience suggestions and has played a the Royal Court, Latitude Festival, Shakespeare's Globe and Bristol Jam.
