A magic realist story of a modern 'disappearance'. Driving back to Barcelona, Maria breaks down in the dessert. A bus stops for her. But are the passengers really who they seem? Leaving her at the door of a forbidding looking building, the driver wishes her luck. "I only came to use the phone" cries Maria. And that night, El Estapendo the Magician has to perform without an assistant.
