Like the pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales and the young socialites in The Decameron, the three women in Inside Out tell each other stories to pass the time, to entertain each other and above all, to transcend their difficult situation. In this case however, they also learn a great deal about themselves and begin the process of change...Set against the harsh reality of prison life, they weave their stories to create a mythic, visual and highly imaginative world. Projected images, shadows, extreme physicality liberate these women, creating an exciting piece of innovative theatre.
