Insomnia archiveIn New York they are WASPs, in London they are Sloanes, in Paris they are BCBGs. In Bombay.... When you're young, single and carefree in one of the world's greatest cities, life is good. You're driving downtown at ninety miles an hour - avoiding potholes, beggars and vagrants; if you feel low you down another drink; you get in a fight and you hope the damage won't show. But try as they might, these bright young things of the Bombay scene can't ignore a city whose identity crisis mirrors their own. As ancient disputes rage, four young lives collide in contemporary India. Set in 1993, against the backdrop of the bombs and battles of the Bombay riots, Insomnia examines longing, loss and the living of life on the edge. Despite their money, their protected existences, and their aversion to politics, Mohan, Abhay, Tanya and Aliya can't avoid the violent consequences of living on a cultural fault-line.
