Invisible Man archive"They say I am an imposter, a fantasist. I say I am an escapologist, an adventurer. At any rate, I was born in or near Paris, in the year 1844..." So begins the greatest story of a man ever lived to tell. At least according to the man who told it. A tale so tall at first everybody believed it. Even the bit about the octopus. Invisible Man is a show about adventure and obsession, traversing the highest seas and the deepest depths. But it begins with the audacious glimmer in the eye of our hero, and takes shape on the pages in front of him. The words, as he writes them, take flight, become seagulls in a turbulent sky and flames in a distant desert. Before returning to the page embellished and embroidered, and none the worse for the experience. But as Louis describes his mammoth sea creatures, the public smells a fish. Is he who he says he is? How can he prove it? Have his adventures all been for nothing? And how does he end up selling matches on a bridge?
