Jungle Bells

Jungle BellsT0573566608
Jungle Bells is a solo theatrical performance that transforms a simple journey by an African American back to Africa in search of his present identity and his ancestral past, into an encounter inside the laughter and pain of Black America; albeit a sacrilegious and hilarious one. Black people in America, to the resonant metaphors of Alexander Pushkin and the blunt rhetoric of a present day white supremacist. Jungle Bells rings with shameless wit and humour. No one gets spared in this journey, including the narrator, whose consciousness is absorbed by the presence and experience of spirits who've witnessed the long passage of African Americans from their homeland to their present day cardboard boxes and condominiums in Los Angeles. In the words of the character DJ Homeless, "I'm in all of y'alls Closets."
