About a corner shop in Preston, 13 year old Amarjit writes to her heroine revealing much about her own life along the way. Steven Whinnery's Dancing in My Bedroom is a sweetly amusing piece about his Glasgow childhood with music, tap-dancing and singing. It's a tale of dodgy household appliances, and thwarted ambition.
