Mary Shelley archiveWriter Helen Edmundson explores the astonishing story of how Mary Shelley came to write Frankenstein, one of the great literary classics, when she was just nineteen years old. This summer, for the first time ever, some scenes from the first draft of the play will be brought to life in the historic setting of the Bodleian's Convocation House. This offers our audience a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes and become part of the creative process, watching and responding to a fledgling project as it evolves. After each performance there will be a discussion with the actors and director Polly Teale.
