Merriweather archiveFollow Nicodemus Merriweather as he makes his inglorious debut on the Shakespearian London stage. Hilariously funny, hair-raising, bloody and poignantly sad, 'Merriweather' is a great night out for lovers of The Bard and newcomers to Shakespeare alike. Nicodemus Merriweather ran away to join the theatre on his fifteenth birthday. and was thrust into the breech by William Shakespeare himself. Now he tells his story. Listen as he recalls tales of The Essex Rebellion, The Gunpowder Plot, a change of royal dynasty, the Plague, the execution of Roderigo Lopez, and his own interrogation in The Clink, while all the time he watched as Shakespeare and those closest to him turned life in the late 16th/early 17th centuries into the greatest drama in history. This one man show sees the actor portray over forty characters, some real, others William Shakespeare's own creations. The play is 2 hours with interval .
