Mouth of Lies archiveGaeldom was at a poetic and musical watershed in the 17th century. Two artists of genius emerged, poet Mary MacLeod and piper Patrick MacCrimmon. Clan MacLeod boasted of a great Gaelic hero in Mary's supporter, the Royalist soldier Sir Norman MacLeod. Soon, however, the clan was to be headed by one of its most Anglified Chiefs, Rory MacLeod. The scene is set for a feast of symbolic conflict, dark deeds, sublime songs and glorious music.
