Multiple Choice archiveMultiple Choice is a short play about drugs and drug addiction. A cast of five characters tell their stories and interact as their lives collide through the choices they make and the desperate, disturbing circumstances they find themselves in. They say you make your own luck, that you choose your own path, that you are the master of your own destiny. That may work for some, but for others, the odds do not stack well. Not well at all. The play is based on real people and real events. The stories are told with humour, pathos and irony. The humour is dark, edgy and shocking, counter pointing the desperate sadness that often surrounds the families and victims of drug addicts. The play reflects on the impact of drugs on our society through criminal activity and the seemingly callous indifference of addicts driven by their need to feed their addiction. The play, however, is not downbeat, is not a polemic and concentrates on the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds. Multiple Choice concerns the choices some make and the paths they take with the possibility of redemption ever present. Age 14+
