Details

A patient is admitted in disturbing circumstances. Disheveled and unable to tell her tale the world is quick to create a history for her. The arrival triggers a doctors memory of a forgotten love affair, forcing examination of repressed secrets. His colleague, searching for what is lost, finds something else in the process of looking. They follow a fragile line between diagnosis and delirium. Unable to find the return fare or get off at the last stop. Stories come together in a macabre, comedic and fantastical world. The world of case notes, treatments and institutions. Two stories run side by side, one of stealing away in the night, one of mistaken identity both linked by a love story told through sedation, x-rays and audience analysis. Trains shriek through the night, elegant foxtrots float through incarcerating walls, patients yearn to go mad and Doctors dream of escape. Utilising a mix of new writing, puppetry, object animation and physical theatre, original stories are created in a fascinating and intelligent way.

The three performers join together through well directed action that is both impressive and terrifying! Set in a 1930's asylum the story tells of a young woman suffering from an unreleased trauma who gets mixed up in an unprofessional love affair. Mistaken identity and romance come together to create a piece of original theatre that is superbly executed and thoroughly moving. Yes, puppetry is the new rock and roll.
