Scottish born artist Jack Vettriano is now a household name. His paintings are recognisable on greetings cards, calendars and coffee mugs. But Vettriano's images are a gateway to an alluring, often sinister world; provocative, exotic and erotic, his work hovers between night-time desolation and evocative romanticism. His work ponders the role of fate, the tragicomedy of attraction and the human potential for harm. In Painting By Numbers, the title taken from an often used critique of his work, 2nd year Drama and Performance students use the genre of physical theatre to explore this dark world of Vettriano; not bringing the paintings to life, but breathing life into the paintings.
