Picnic Plays - Plays in a Bag archiveFancy a tasty morsel of new drama to savour at lunchtime? Plays in a Bag are an intriguing mix of three short plays by brand new Welsh voices to be enjoyed in bitesize portions. Why not try drama that's new and different? Plays in a Bag are a surprise drama package, presented in partnership with one of Wales' most exciting new writing companies. Dirty Protest, from Cardiff, are experts at creating lo-fi, high-drama shows. Fresh from the Royal Court, Almeida Theatre and Latitude Festival, these twenty minute plays by up-and-coming Welsh playwrights Matt Bulgo, Sandra Bendelow and Brad Birch are directed by Mared Swain (Associate Director, Sherman Cymru) and Kate Wasserberg (Associate Director, Clwyd Theatr Cymru). They are performed by members of the Clwyd Theatr Cymru company - Sara Harris-Davies, Sion Pritchard and Christian Patterson - professional actors who are well known to local audiences from current and recent productions in Mold. Bring your sandwiches (or treat yourself to one of our picnic baskets) and enjoy new Welsh plays - raw and unpolished - read for the very first time. Come along and be surprised.
