Set in the 1960's in a school of English for foreigners in Cambridge, 'Quartermaine's Terms' is an often humorous but ultimately moving account of several years in the lives of seven teachers. The play was first presented at the Queen's Theatre, in 1981 and won the 1982 Cheltenham Prize for Literature, the first time a play has won this award.
