Road Movie

Road MovieT1171992530
Roadmovie is the second play by Nick Whitfield and Oxford based Wes Williams following the fringe hit of the 1997 festival Albert Camus, What s The Score. Their style of intimate story-telling interjects the most fantastical dreamlike sequences into the everyday and observational. This latest play is set in a video rental shop on Kilburn High Road. Alex (favourite film - Spinal Tap) works at the video shop with Jermaine (Face/Off), Christine (Three Colours White) and the furious Elvis ('Don't ask stupid questions. ). This isn't Blockbusters, however, this is the independent sector, where the customer is rarely right. This lot are not going to grin inanely and try to sell you a bucket of popcorn as you try to rent your favourite movie. Arguing won't work because for those who work here, this isn't the leisure industry. It's life and death. Using a blend of solo performance and film, Roadmovie explores the histories, the dreams and the fears of people who live and work along the Kilburn High Road.
