T9975329
The story of frustrated young (illegally young in modern terms) love and death and the vendetta between two families in a tight-knit Italian community. One of Shakespeare's most popular and enduring dramas it has also been re-done as film, ballet, musical (most notably "West Side Story") and ice spectacular!

Production details

Relocated to Sicily in the early 1940s, at the time of liberation, when the US influence was felt and the Mafia bosses were let out of jail, when they held their notorious meeting at the Hotel des Palmes to codify their hierarchy and the running of their criminal businesses, when gang and family were interchangeable, the atmosphere is one of film noir is Susan C Triesman's dynamic production.
