Services to Poetry archiveIn July 2006 armed only with a beat-up Ford Escort, a handful of biros and Kate Bush's greatest hits, Aisle16 spent five days travelling the length of the country creating a bizarre poetic travelogue of Britannia and her subjects as found under the neon lights of Britain's service stations. Is there beauty in a KFC mega bucket? Can poetry be created on the M25? Is it really better to travel hopefully that to arrive? Aisle16's Services to Poetry features original poems such as It's Mimm's O'Clock, Luke Wright's riotous clobbering of South Mimms services and The Nakedness of the Long Distance Driver, Stickley's paranoid tale of his time in a Trucker's shower. Each poem is a desperate post card home from nowhere, backed by the Aisle16 trademark digital slideshow and told in their ‘multi-vox’ delivery style. Suitable for ages 12+.
