Pings
Over the last year, movement artist Simon Whitehead and sound artist Barnaby Oliver have been working simultaneously from their local rivers: the Afon Dulais in Abercych, west Wales and Maribyrnong River in Melbourne, Australia. Although a few thousand miles apart they approach their rivers as an unbroken global body of water through which they correspond.
Pings has been driven by the desire of two people living at distance to explore the physical space between them through performance and sound. Whitehead and Oliver return to Chapter for the first presentation of a work developed from this exchange.
