Join us for a specially commissioned production exploring and celebrating the rich history of Bedford and its most famous citizens as we take a stroll through 850 years of Bedford's past. The play's title ?Somewhere in England' (The Bedford Play), is a reference to the BBC's live broadcasts from Bedford (and particularly Bedford School) during the Second World War. The town's true identity had to remain a secret to avoid being bombed by Hitler's Luftwaffe and so the broadcasts were always announced as being live "from somewhere in England".
