Robert, an ageing businessman with a past, deals in exotic rugs and period furnishings. Part mentor, part historian, part psychopath, he strides about his storeroom like a low-rent Caesar. Joe, his young apprentice of twenty, soaks up with relish his tales of sixties Soho criminal glamour and of ancient historical conquests, as they await the arrival of Mary, who has hired them to do a job for her. Mary wanted them to pay her partner a visit and to punish him for playing away. Now she wants proof.
