The play convey's the complex and powerful emotions of family conflict and finds a new context - a weavers cottage in County Armagh in the late eighteenth century. For the Moores and the Hamills, the dramatic deeds of McCracken and Tone are but a distant rumour, but neither family can escape the conseuences of a violently divided protestant community as the United Irishmen are pitched against the might of the emerging Orange Order.
