The Daily Tribunal, is a devised piece which seeks to bring to life the otherworldly beast that is the morning newspaper. It follows the journey of two homeless men who find themselves faced with the unlikely task of writing a daily article for their local newspaper. The piece mixes a single narrative with stylised representations of news stories in an attempt to dissect the dual elements of virtue and vice which flow both into, and out of, the stories we digest every day. How does good intent give into corruption? Can journalistic integrity stand tall in a culture of flashy tabloid gossip? And, most importantly, do we as a society really demand anything better? These are some of the questions this piece tackles with a dark humour and an unflinching embrace of human nature.
