This play gives an insight into a brief but life deciding moment in the alcoholic's journey from that first drink to an untimely death or alcoholic insanity. The Hot Seat is a verbal confrontation between the consultant psychiatrist desperately trying to pierce the defiance of the alcoholic, with moments of humour that balance out the serious theme.
