Adapted from Moliere's Le Malade Imaginaire. Illness or wild imagination? Argan the wealthy invalid is so obsessed with his imagined illnesses, he abandons all sense in his search for the perfect medicine, while his wife and doctor prey upon his fortune. It's a hilarious story of deception and disguise, full of exuberant set pieces that build to a dazzling finale. In this Scots adaptation of Moliere's classic comedy of the bourgeoisie and their foibles, Hector MacMillan's language is full of raucous banter and robust energy.
