Details

The Journey of Jeannie Deans archiveIt is 1737 and, following unrest in Edinburgh, an army captain is tried and convicted of murder. However, the death penalty is commuted by Queen Caroline in London. As a result organized riots take place and the captain is lynched. Against these public events, the very human drama of the Deans sisters is played out.
