The writer's revere of his nation weaves through earthy humour, feuds and petty squabbles of the 13th Century and transposes them directly to the modern day and beyond. Reid uses the Celtic Queen Of Faeries to unleash a pathos and majesty that raises the play to heights far beyond those normally associated with Scottish comedy.
