World War One commemorations recall stories of heroics, courage and sacrifice. Lincolnshire's own is especially compelling, with only three of the eight Beechey brothers surviving the Great War. The Last Post is Lincoln's commemoration of an unparalleled sacrifice. It is the city's own play, inspired by the 300 letters the Beechey brothers sent home. A true community remembrance of the Beechey family's dignity and extraordinary sacrifice, it was written to be performed in the very place where men trained in readiness for war a century ago. Join the Lincoln Mystery Plays Company at Lincoln Drill Hall in Armistice Week for an extraordinary community performance to honour this remarkable family and so many more.
