In doing so, he wends and lies his path through the slings, arrows, jail cells, brothels, porn shops, churches and choir practices of Britain, from the 70 s up to the present day. Tommy Marchbank the dubious businessman, Mrs Elizabeth Fairweather - leader of the church spiritual regeneration class and her husband Endacott, dear Molly the good hearted whore, Ted the armed robber and poor Fleg, the ill fated get-away driver, all play their part in Bob s hapless journey, as he slowly comes to realize, 'there ain t neither time nor space in this old world for 'I don t know or 'I never thought - everything has a reason and if you don t know what that reason is, that makes you a sheep ... too late alas.
