A black comedy about life, love and theatre inspired by Ivor Novello. 1953, in a run-down London boarding house, Rhys is an out of work chorus boy whose court case comes up tomorrow. The theatre had been his way of escaping from the drab, ration-book post-war world, and for years Rhys had revelled in the escapist romance and colour of Ivor Novello's musicals.
