It's 1761 in Dublin, Murrough O'Docherty has a problem. His wife Nancy has returned from the coronation of George III in London and is so infatuated with London ways that she now calls herself 'Mrs Diggerty' speaks with a London accent which is all her own, and even worse she is accompanied by Count Maurice Mushroom, an English Fop, in other words she is suffering with the 'London Vertigo'.
