George Longford just wants a quiet life. He likes nothing better than an evening at home with his books, communicating by virtue of cutting-edge 1950's technology with his friend in the flat upstairs. One evening, he is visited by Cyrus Armstrong whose urbane manner barely conceals a powerful menace. Accusing George of harming his sister, Cyrus threatens extreme physical pain.
