The Old Man and the Sea
T02084577982
This is Hemingway's modest little story. Not much happens. A man sits in a boat and three days later, he catches a fish. So how come it won the Pulitzer Prize? Because it is also an epic. A titanic clash of man versus nature. Each side locked in mortal combat. A swaggering tale full of so much yearning that you can hear it squeak. 4 days, 2 gladiators, 1 dies. In it's own fragile way, it is breathtaking.
