The Red Priest archiveAntonio Vivaldi was one of the most successful composer of his age, who wrote so much music that it is likely others wrote for him. He was an arrogant and vain Priest who liked to gamble, but never said mass. He was Maestro di Coro at the Hospital of Mercy where orphaned girls were educated in music under his strict supervision. Vivaldi made an extraordinary amount of money from his compositions yet died a pauper. What happened to destroy him?
