The Shepherd's Meet archiveShepherds' Meets are traditional get-togethers of fell farming folk to reclaim their lost sheep and enjoy one another's company with stories and song. This radio play in Lakeland Dialect was first broadcast from The Oddfellows Arms in Caldbeck in 1937. It was written by Harry Lamb, founder of the Herdwick Sheep Society, whose works were broadcast by the BBC during the war years. His observations on country life were popular and helped keep up morale. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear a reading of this little-known play.
