Fragmented and poetic, The Sniper is the monologue of an unnamed soldier whose psyche is simultaneously sharpened and blunted by the horrors he witnesses every day. Alone on a hill like an omnipotent god, the sniper watches villagers attempt to go about their day-to-day lives. He spies a pretty, young girl through the sights of his gun, and the critical line between reality and fantasy is blurred. For the past few years he has mixed freelance journalism with creative writing teaching at prisons and schools.
