The Upstairs Room archiveThe streets of London are awash with bodies and the Thames is aflame. Strange weather pervades the city. A man finds himself in a hotel halfway between Kafka's Castle and Jeunet and Caro's Delicatessen. But he is not alone. The Upstairs Room is an apocalyptic tale of hope and a riposte to Jean Paul Sartre's hellish Huis Clos. It involves three mismatched, damaged, and severely haunted characters coming together in order to confront the truth. Running time: 1hr 20mins

User Review: 22Nov12: I absolutely loved this. Very funny, and incredibly moving. Some really great performances. I got so emotional at one point that I made a strange guttural noise that made a few people turn round and look at me. I love the ambiguity of the show - it seems appropriate given the subject matter that the audience leaves still wondering what and who was real, and what will happen to Gordon now. Highly recommended. I see there's no link, so tickets are from here: https://kingsheadtheatre.ticketsolve.com/shows/873485852/events
