The story of the 1924 Everest expedition. In 1924, George Malory and his companion Andrew Irvine, wearing rudimentary clothing, and using primitive oxygen equipment, disappeared during a valiant bid to reach the summit of Everest. Although their fate has been partly resolved, the riddle of whether they succeeded in their bid, 29 years before Hillary and Tenzing remains as tantalising as ever.
