Welcome to a world where peas become boys, horses speak, where women can be gloriously greedy and men can be satisfyingly silly. A girl escapes from the bonds of family, loss and duty. Disguised by a floating wooden frock she travels over water, earth and air to find herself in the employ of a Prince. The Wooden Frock captures the dark, dangerous and delightful world of Calvino's Italian Folktales in a feast of storytelling with live music, sumptuous design, film, puppetry and illusion.
