Three young people who live together are looking for a way out, and are taking very different approaches in attempting to rescue themselves from a mixture of lager and despondency. Heather takes comfort in lists and Mr Muscle cleaner, whilst Neil believes he is perfect material for a youth documentary on Channel 4. Mel, meanwhile, is constructing something very stange out of various parts of the kitchen and bathroom! However, with the building falling down around them, rampant paranoia and the added threat of Humphrey Bogart keeping them under surveillance and taking orders from Peter Mandelson, things are not destined to run smoothly!
