A Showcase Night -premiering the work of seven exceptional playwitghts from the Americas. The Chaski's Theatre Company seeks to provide a transatlantic platform for outstanding work from the Americas that has had little to no exposure in the United Kingdom. This debut performance project is a one night showcase of extracts taken from a shortlist of plays that have never before, been seen on a London stage. Featuring among others, work by Migdalia Cruz, Octavio Solis and Tony Kushner, as well as a new translation of work by Colombian playwright Pedro Miguel Rozo, and text from a yet-unpublished, promising playwright. The event sets Chaski's well on its path to a full production in 2015 and to further enriching the UK with a constant stream of outstanding American text. Bringing into our theatres the exceptional stories and the powerful poetry of plays too often unseen; of voices largely unheard.
