When the great ballet dancer Irek Mukhamedov defected from the USSR, he arrived in Britain as a stranger, who had to prove his talent all over again. He soon amazed the British public with the strength and virility of his dancing, and dominated the male ranks of the Royal Ballet. This documentary examines that tense period, as Mukhamedov struggled to adapt to the very different style of working in England.
