Between them they ve survived the jungle, numerous bush-tucker trials, a probing by Louis Theroux, even the House of Commons, and The World Cup, now Neil and Christine Hamilton tackle their biggest challenge yet when they take on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at The Pleasance Queens Dome from August 5. Guaranteed to be more than a little out of the ordinary the couple will be hosting a daily lunchtime chat show checking out the lunchboxes of the audience whilst sharing a sandwich or something more sumptuous with an array of talent from the Edinburgh Festivals and beyond, stars of stage or screen, emerging talent from the fringe or simply chatting with Edinburgh locals, each and every one a legend in their own lunchtime. Still two of the country s most recognisable faces, Neil was a high profile Conservative MP from 1983 -1997, serving as a Government Minister under Margaret Thatcher and John Major. He has addressed thousands of audiences, with a combination of both wit and intelligence and was awarded Spectator Magazine "Parliamentary Wit of The Year". Self styled ‘battle-axe Christine is a regular media personality and author hosting 'The Christine Hamilton Show' on BBC Choice, and is most famed for her stint on ITV s 'I m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here' As a couple, Neil and Christine have appeared on such TV Shows as 'Have I Got News For You', 'Newsnight' and the infamous fly on the wall Louis Theroux documentary about their lives. Game for anything the Fringe can throw at them, Neil and Christine are undoubtedly the lunch-date of the festival so butter your baps or stuff your stottie and get along to the Pleasance Queen s Dome from August 4.
