The Royal Variety Performance in the Presence of Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh archiveThe 1999 Royal Variety Performance will be held at the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre with a galaxy of top British variety talent and international stars - the first time out of London for 40 years. The performance will be produced by London Weekend Television and will be shown on the ITV network in December. Birmingham Royal Ballet showcases an extract from Slaughter on 10th Avenue, choreographed by David Bintley. From London's West End theatre there will be excerpts from the hit musicals, Disney's The Lion King, Great Balls of Fire and Mamma Mia.
