Schrottplatz - T01465556923Is the world really how you see it? With Thomas Lehmen's new piece, a solo entitled Schrottplatz ('scrapyard' in English), a seemingly absurd set-up questions what we think we know. Lehmen performs using various objects which he uses to share his understanding of the world (or lack of). He explains an electric cable to a tomato, an artwork to a football and a newspaper to a tinned sardines. He also gives the objects a demonstration of his choreographic ideas. This performance playfully questions our perceptions of the world and also of the theatre.Producer Thomas Lehmen. Producer Christine Peterges. Producer PACT Zollverein. Producer Southbank Centre. Lehmen Lernt - T02046194522Taking the premise that even the smallest of actions creatively contributes to building the world instead of just filling it, Thomas Lehmen reflects on situations and skills that people learn. The elements are of either personal or general significance. They may appear necessary, unnecessary, right or wrong. What they all have in common is that people learn them, use them and pass them on. | |
