This quite outstanding comedy is one of the finest examples of post war Scottish drama. Muckle Mooed Meg is a well known and much loved story, deeply rooted within the rich tapestry of Borders folklore. The writer's revere of his nation weaves through earthy humour, feuds and petty squabbles of the 13th Century and transposes them directly to the modern day and beyond. Reid uses the Celtic Queen Of Faeries to unleash a pathos and majesty that raises the play to heights far beyond those normally associated with Scottish comedy. This other worldly governance is enhanced in inimitable style with live and original music for clarsach, violin and keyboards by Richard Cherns. Suitable for ages 12 plus.
