Resolution! is The Place's annual festival of new works presented by a range of diverse emerging dance-artists. Expanding Foam - We invite you to explore the incoherent dynamics of an oneiric journey coming to its end. Conscious thoughts wake up to infiltrate the previous dreams and soon replace them. Beside Ourselves - Three strangers. Three varying agendas. Three different ideologies on acceptable public behaviour. Three conflicting personal space boundaries. Three bodies - sitting, standing, sniffing, spitting, sweating. One bench. And the overwhelming desire to abandon social conformity and punch someone in the face. Beside Ourselves is Ashleigh Berry's new dance-theatre work - a relatable and evocative portrayal of the interactions that strangers encounter and the tensions that build when they are forced to temporarily co-exist in confined public spaces. In our fast paced, densely populated society, personal space is seen as a commodity, something we own, perhaps even a human right. So what happens when you're forced into a confined public place where there is literally not enough precious personal space to go round? If You Leave - Can you stay true to yourself, when everything suggests you change? 201's raw, contemporary hip-hop movement returns in ?If You Leave?: a journey of two individuals and their broken encounter. Duration: 100mins
