Shortlisted for the prestigious Jerwood Choreography Award, Australian-British choreographer Liz Lea has joined forces with lighting designer Karen Norris to create In-land, a contemporary dance solo created through exploration of sight, smell, sound and touch in nature. In this subtle yet powerful work, the performer is transformed from woman to animal to spirit, dancing with and responding to her choreographed shadow. Liz Lea's unique style combines contemporary dance with elements of classical Indian dance technique and martial arts. In-land will be performed with Radha, Lea's re-interpretation of Ruth St Denis' Bollywoodesque 1906 east-meets-west solo.
