Double Tongue archiveSzeged - Southern Hungary. Close to the Serbian border. The sound of NATO Chinooks pierces the night. Robert, a young American researcher, is fascinated by Szeged's famous synagogue and the enigmatic Black Madonna. After entering into a strange and dangerous liaison with Anna, his language teacher, Robert is drawn into an undercover world of sexual obsessions, political intrigues and shifting identities. Please note: Double Tongue contains scenes of an adult nature and is not recommended for children under 16. Brian Wooland's compelling new play was commissioned with Arts Council New Writing Award, and is part of the European Year of Languages 2001.
