Comedy Springfest archiveUpfront Comedy return to Oxford Playhouse with the Comedy Springfest, a huge, sizzling line up of established and fast rising acts from the UK's buzzing comedy circuit, featuring a headline set from award winning character stand up Felix Dexter star of The Real McCoy and Absolutely Fabulous. More character comedy comes from Barbara Nice, just your average loopy Stockport housewife, played by Janice Connolly (Sister Mary in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights). The host for the evening is Cuban-Jamaican Brummie John Simmit, best known for playing Dipsy in BBC TV's phenomenon Teletubbies. Annette Fagon is the daughter of a Jamaican female newsagent, most recently seen hobnobbing with the Churchill insurance dog in an ad campaign. Youngest act on the bill is South London accountancy student turned comic OLA, who is already writing for MTV and is tipped for big things
